Inclusion is Innovation: Christabel

This short is one of the most creatively challenging and artistically fulfilling projects I have ever worked on. I am very grateful to the teams at Microsoft and PASSERINE for choosing me to direct this short, to my good friend and fearless collaborator Natty Boonmasiri for her support with animation, and to Tânia Grinberg for helping bring this project to life through colouring! I love using animation to create bold and engaging images that tell compelling stories, and I’m so happy I got to bring visuals to Christabel’s story.

Through the production process, the great folks at PASSERINE organized a meeting for me to meet Christabel and chat with her about her thoughts regarding the project. Christabel is a dedicated engineer, mother, and wife, and she is also and activist and public speaker. Her journey through engineering, her transition, and her mission to protect trans youth are an inspiration. All I can hope is that this piece is a step towards fulfilling Christabel’s mission of meeting everybody she can in the world!
